SET UP GUIDE FOR MR HEADSET

Click the Windows Key

Type in “Mixed Reality”

Click the Windows Mixed Reality application

Click the setup icon

Select your room boundary. Set me up for seated and standing (also known as desk scale) experience will work at your desk. It also means that you will be using your headset without a boundary. You'll need to stay in one place, as you'll have no boundary to help you avoid physical obstacles.

Keep your headset pointed toward your PC and click Center.

Issue		Comments	How to resolve
The Headset is not displaying the software screen.	The software did not startup correctly or it displays "Check your display cable. Error code:1-4"		Check the Windows power settings in the control panel. Ensure that the "Turn on fast startup" is not checked. See the picture below:
When I move my head left or right the headset display does not move smoothly or glitches	The Laptop is not operating in battery mode and not in high-performance mode.		Check to ensure the power cord is plugged in and operating correclty.
When I move my head left or right or try to look out the window, the vehicle moves with me	The headset tracking system is not functioning correctly.		Make sure the room has enough light. Make sure the room has enough details to track. Unplug the device, close Windows Mixed Reality, and plugging the device back in. The steering won’t turn on		The Steering motor is not plugged in	Ensure that the Steering motor is plugged in
The laptop won’t turn on		The PC is not plugged in	Ensure that the laptop is plugged in
The steering wheel has no feedback		The steering wheel has lost connection	Follow the shutdown procedure, wait 90 seconds and follow the startup procedure
The headset stopped working		The headset is not plugged in	Ensure that the headset cables are plugged into the laptop
The headset view looks different	The headset needs to be centered		Have the Driver look straight ahead and push the CENTER HEAD button on the keyboard
The throttle and brake pedals don’t work	The pedals are not plugged in		Ensure the Pedals are plugged in
The audio doesn’t work or sounds poor	The audio is set incorrectly in Windows		Enter Windows audio setting and ensure the audio is set to Speakers/Headphones “Realtek Audio” as a default device
The steering wheel starts to move quickly on its own	The steering controller has lost connection		Shut off the Steering Motor and power down the laptop, follow the power-up procedure to reset.

The pedals and steering will not operate	The steering hub is not connected correctly		Remove the hub using the quick release, inspect the pins on the inside, replace the hub, and ensure that it is correctly fitted and follow the startup procedure.
The Steering Hub is difficult to remove	The steering hub can be removed in a similar procedure as it was installed		If the unit is new, it can be a tight fit and require a small amount of force to separate the hub, ensure that the base is securely fixed before trying to remove it.
After switching a steering motor base between portable desktop laptops, the self-center spring re-enabled, resulting in poor driving control characteristics.	The steering wheel was overly strong wheel, wheel self-centering while stopped, etc Test for the problem: 1. Close the VR Motion simulator software (Alt-F4) 2. Turn wheel 90 degrees left or right: + The wheel should remain turned if the setting is correct. - The wheel will return to the center if the setting has been incorrectly reset.		Fix for the problem: 1. Close the VR Motion simulator software (Alt-F4) 2. Run the Windows joystick control panel ("joy.cpl") 3. Click "Properties" to launch the Fanatec control panel (a UAC dialog for "FWCustomSetup,exe" will appear, answer is "Yes") (a dialog window for "not the latest firmware, Update?" will appear, answer is "No") 4. Close the windows (as soon as the control panel window opened, the setting was reset to Off).
